Nuclear Bob

Nuclear Bob is a heartland rock band steeped in a fusion of rock, R&B, folk and country. Reflecting echoes of rock’s Golden Age, Nuclear Bob recaptures the aspirations of rock ’n' roll with evocative imagery, enveloping grooves and instrumental prowess. From piercing social commentary to edgy R&B, Nuclear Bob’s self-titled album pulls no punches and it is everything you’d expect from a great band.

With a sound and style all its own, Nuclear Bob doesn’t stray far from paths blazed by Dylan, Petty and Springsteen. Musically, one can hear strains of the Heartbreakers, Doobie’s and Eagles. From compelling storytelling to driving rock, Nuclear Bob rides on enticing rhythms, unforgettable hooks and captivating melodies. The concept of veteran singer/songwriter, Rich Schuttler, Nuclear Bob’s first album has been a long time coming and features midwestern local music legends along with talented young rockers in this seminal release.

Rich’s rock ’n’ roll journey was charted at age 14 in the small town of Hot Springs in the Black Hills of South Dakota and forged in bars & dance halls of the midwest. Although his bands enjoyed regional success, he shelved his musical ambitions as rock drifted further from revolutionary 60s music that had sparked his imagination. The imprint of those early rock influences & experiences would however become a catalyst in Rich’s musical journey as he turned his attentions to songwriting and recording. A reluctant performer ever honing his craft, he kept his music to himself until it could no longer be ignored. Selections from that notable body of work, never recorded or previously performed, are embodied in Nuclear Bob’s first album.

Nuclear Bob, the band, has its genesis in 2012 when Rich started working with Scott Miller of Flat Iron Recording Studio. An accomplished musician, vocalist, and recording engineer, Scott proved the perfect ally for Rich’s singular endeavor as an artist and producer. Together they refined a blueprint for capturing the songs but it was immediately evident that the hit-worthy character of the material demanded the accompaniment of other standout musicians. With instrumentality and talent as the only criteria, two aspiring virtuosos, Johnny Hastings and Cody Neeb, joined the group along with Rich’s long-time bandmate and L.A. musician, Michael English. Together, they would take on the persona of Nuclear Bob.

Nuclear Bob consists of Rich Schuttler (guitar/vocals), Scott Miller (guitar, bass, keys, drums, mandolin, vocals), Johnny Hastings (lead guitar), Cody Neeb (keyboards/vocals) and Michael English (bass/vocals).

Bucking the trend of spectacle over substance, Nuclear Bob is boldly honest reminding us that rock is the conscience, as well as the soul of popular music. From blues to ballads their self-titled album has something for everyone.
